Investment banks go west in search of business

Investment banks are making a push for business on the west coast of the US by bolstering their offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Germany-based Berenberg Capital Markets, Australian bank Macquarie and Japanese bank Nomura are among the firms building west coast offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco. UK bank HSBC is also considering expanding its investment banking presence in California.
