The world's biggest investment banks are turning to increasingly creative ways to hire AI specialists, as the sector struggles to attract tech talent that can earn up to $1m a year.

Banks are recruiting from universities, offering apprenticeships and considering building technology centres near talent, according to a report from banking analyst Mike Mayo.
