Author Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, who celebrates her 150th birthday this year, once said: “If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn’t. And contrary-wise, what it is it wouldn’t be, and what it wouldn’t be, it would.”

I'm glad we got that straight because today's investors have lost their bearings as well, in a world that has become long on confusion and short of wonder - with the great fall of China only exacerbating things.
