Fundraising for renewable energy investments and the number of M&A deals in the sector both dropped sharply in 2015, despite the publicity generated in the run-up to the Paris climate change conference in December.
The number of M&A deals worldwide in the wind, solar and other renewable energy industries fell from 392 in 2014 to just 233 in 2015, according to figures from data analyst Preqin.
