Investors call on MPs to investigate 'blocking' of green review

Aviva, First State and Co-op are among those concerned that the Treasury has stymied the important study

A group of fund managers and business leaders has written to the UK Parliament asking MPs to investigate a charge that the Treasury, under Chancellor George Osborne, "blocked" a cross-government study into how climate change and resource depletion will affect the UK economy.

The grouping, including Aviva Investors, First State Investments and The Co-operative Asset Management, as well as the Aldersgate Group, a business lobby dealing with green issues, have written to Andrew Tyrie MP, chairman of the Treasury Select Committee, asking him to look into the allegations.
