Investors grow restless with tainted research, according to Greenwich

Institutional investors in the US believe they should move to brokers whose research is not tainted by investment banking conflicts of interest - as cost cutting forces them to trim the number of brokers they use.

Just under 50% of portfolio managers said that they would direct more business to brokers that they perceive to have little or no conflict of interest between research and investment banking.
