Investors pour record sums into ESG funds amid virus crisis

UK-based investors poured £362m into funds managed according to environmental, social and good corporate governance principles during July — the highest-ever monthly total for such strategies.

The figures, from funds network Calastone, underline the growing appeal of responsible investing among consumers. Active asset managers are hoping to make the most of the trend, as low-cost index funds also continue to gain in appeal.
