More than half of the world’s institutional investors expect artificial intelligence will eradicate at least some investment jobs within the next seven years — a worrying thought for fund managers already anxious about being usurped by algorithms.
According to Fidelity International’s 2018 global institutional survey, which canvassed the views of 905 “asset owners” — pension funds, foundations, and the like — 52% of respondents said it was likely that AI will replace many traditional investment jobs by 2025, with 90% of respondents in France predicting this outcome.
