Assets at Gottex Asset Management, a Swiss fund of hedge funds manager, have gone through the $3bn (€2.5bn) mark as investors warm to the mathematical skills of its investment specialists.

Peter Bennett, a senior investment partner at Gottex, said the firm had $3.38bn in six funds of hedge funds. Its assets under management have risen steeply this year from less than $2bn. It has developed more rapidly than the fund of hedge funds industry, which grew by 27% in the first half of 2004, according to Invest-Hedge, a hedge fund publication.
