The International Organisation of Securities Commissions, the global body for securities regulators, has set up a committee to examine the role of private equity firms in the capital markets.

Iosco revealed at its annual conference in Mumbai, India yesterday that it has created a taskforce led by the UK's Financial Services Authority to assess what concerns the private equity sector poses for national securities regulators.
