The International Petroleum Exchange has lured Stephen Gutteridge, a former managing director at UK energy supplier Seeboard, to spearhead a drive into new markets.

Chief among his responsibilities will be the exchange's all-important push into the electricity and natural gas markets, which are expected to evolve at breakneck pace ahead of deregulation throughout Europe.
