There has been a breakdown of trust between parties bringing new companies to list on European public markets, which has led to one of the worst first halves for initial public offerings, a Financial News survey has revealed.

Ninety-five per cent of investors to a Financial News survey said that they either did not trust what bookrunners told them about demand for a flotation, or would prefer more transparency.
