Iran's national oil company eyes Bolivia energy investment

Iran has cultivated diplomatic and economic ties with Latin American countries such as Venezuela, Brazil and Bolivia in recent years to stem its growing international isolation

Iran's state-run oil company is considering investments in Bolivia's oil and natural gas sectors, according to Mahmood Astaneh, country manager for the National Iranian Oil Company.

"We are making feasibility studies and evaluating economic and a variety of conditions to decide whether to come into exploration projects," Astaneh said on the sidelines of an energy conference last Friday. He declined to provide additional details.
