ISE profits surge on options volume growth

The International Securities Exchange reported a 40% increase in first-quarter profits that was fuelled by record volume in its core options trading business, with average daily volume topping the two million mark for the second quarter in a row.

Strong volumes generated a related jump in market data revenues.
