ISE volumes soar in first four months of 2002

Daily volumes on the International Securities Exchange, the US-based fully electronic options exchange, have more than trebled in the first four months of 2002.

Contracts for the period totalled 522,350, compared with 160,942 during the same period last year. After just two years of operation, the Exchange's product list has grown to 497 issues, and it is the primary market in terms of volume for 133 of them.
