UK foreign secretary Dominic Raab today joined counterparts in Australia, Canada and the US to slam China’s move to impose a controversial national security law in Hong Kong, warning it will “curtail Hong Kong people’s liberties”.

In a joint letter published on 28 May, Raab, US secretary of state Mike Pompeo, Australian foreign minister Marise Payne and Canadian foreign minister François-Philippe Champagne called on the Chinese government to work with the Hong Kong government to come to a mutually-acceptable solution.
