A large drop in initial public offerings in Italy this year following depressed valuations among the country's small and mid-cap companies may hamper Borsa Italiana's plans to launch its version of the successful London Alternative Investment Market.
There have been only seven initial public offerings by Italian companies that have raised $270m (â¬184m) so far this year. This compares with 28 deals that raised $5.1bn in the same period last year, according to data provider Dealogic.
