Italian internet firm puts flotation on hold

Kataweb, the Italian internet portal, has shelved its listing plans - reinforcing the perilous state of the European new issues markets, in particular for technology and internet stocks.

Analysts logged Kataweb's move as evidence of &quotyet another dot bomb gone&quot, but said that the decision was unlikely to set back the bulging new issues pipeline for telecommunications in the Italian market. &quotI don't think Kataweb will be registering on the radar screens of investors in Italian telecoms,&quot said one.
