ETrade Financial, the online broker, has hired Ken Hight, chief executive of Investment Technology Group's Canadian business, to be executive vice-president of capital markets.

Hight will be based in Toronto, and the firm's institutional offices in New York and Chicago will report directly to him. He will report to Dennis Webb, president of ETrade.
