Bearish banking analyst switches to BlackRock weeks after Mifid II

A notoriously bearish banking analyst, who has consistently called for structural changes to his own industry, has jumped to a large asset manager just weeks after the introduction of wide-ranging regulation shaking-up bank research.

James Chappell, who had led the banking research team at Berenberg for the last five years, joined BlackRock today, a spokesman for the €6.3tn asset manager confirmed to Financial News.
