Janus volunteers $31.5m compensation for investors

Janus Capital, the US mutual fund manager, has become the first firm embroiled in the improper mutual fund trading scandal in the US to volunteer paying compensation directly to investors.

Janus has agreed to pay $31.5m (€25.3m) in damages to those hit by frequent trading of its mutual funds. The exact method of payment is still to be determined by US regulators.
