Jefferies has promoted a senior leader in its London operation to chief executive of its European operations as a long-serving leader steps back.

Evie Vanezi, who has spent 13 years at Jefferies latterly as its chief risk officer in Europe, has been named chief executive of its business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, according to people familiar with the matter. The appointment is effective from 1 July.
