Jefferies International has hired the former head of Nordic investment banking at Credit Suisse to run a planned office in Stockholm, as it considers selectively adding to its on-the-ground presence in Europe.

The US investment bank has hired Fredrik Wranéus to the new role of head of Nordic investment banking, according to two people familiar with the matter. The bank plans to open an office in Sweden by the end of the year but it remains unclear how many staff will be based there.
