Jeremy Hunt’s plan to grow UK into hub for tech stocks ‘lacks substance’, say investors

Investors have cast doubt over Jeremy Hunt’s vision for the UK to rival the US as a hub for tech stocks within a decade, with some claiming the chances of his plan achieving success are “slim to none”.

The chancellor last week suggested the demise of London’s stock market was “massively overstated”, adding that London could become “every bit as competitive for tech founders” as the Nasdaq.
