Credit Suisse Asset Management has picked Jim McCaughan as chief executive to succeed William Priest, who has been appointed chairman of CSAM Americas, a new position.

McCaughan quit last year as president and chief operating officer of Pimco Advisors Holding's Oppenheimer Capital unit after some of his duties were assigned to other executives.
