Fortis Investment Management, the asset management arm of the Dutch-Belgian financial services firm Fortis, has recruited Jacques Joakimides to run its dedicated convertibles team in Paris.

Joakimides, who joins the firm from Banque d'Orsay, WestLB's French retail bank, will be responsible for building the European convertibles operation, which Fortis hopes will become one of its core competencies and will form a growing part of the portfolios of its institutional and retail clients. The convertibles business was previously part of the fund management team in Brussels.
