Mike Adams has been appointed by Dresdner Kleinwort Benson as global head of local markets trading. Adams, who has more than 10 years' experience working for Bankers Trust leading Asian and European trading activities with a strong derivatives focus, will be based in London. He will lead risk co-ordination across the three regions and help drive DrKB's targeted local markets strategy.

SG, the investment banking arm of Société Générale, has hired eight analysts and four sales staff in its London and Paris offices. One of the biggest appointments is Anthony de Larrinaga, who headed WestLB Panmure's media coverage and has been consistently ranked among the top few media analysts over the past few years. Trevor Moss joins from Flemings as head of pan-European insurance research. Moss will head insurance research and Andrew Archer from Baring Asset Management is to cover the integrated oils sector. These appointments follow the hire of three Credit Lyonnais analysts, Matthew Stainer, Andreas Wahl and Daniel Cowan. Beth Richardson will also join SG from Rabobank to cover the European drinks sector while European banks expert Didier Valet has joined from Dresdner Kleinwort Benson in Paris. SG's sales force in London has been boosted by the appointment of DrKB's James Nainby-Luxmore and Alisdair Munro from Williams de Broe. Laurent Beuzit has joined SG's Paris office from Banque de France while Sergio Smaldone from DrKB has joined the Milan office.
