Sam Berwick has replaced Stuart Lucas at IBJ International (IBJI), the London-based investment banking subsidiary of the Industrial Bank of Japan, as the new head of secondary debt markets. Lucas is leaving IBJI to concentrate on outside interests, including joining the board of a sports business due for flotation in the coming months.

BrokerTec Europe has appointed Garry Jones as director of sales and marketing for its European fixed income inter-dealer activities. Jones joins Brokertec after stints with Daiwa Securities and Paribas. While at Paribas he was one of the key architects of the bank's successful business strategy for the EMU. At BrokerTec, he will work with fixed income trading desks across Europe to implement the new interdealer electronic trading platform.
