Salaries at Egerton Capital, the $18.5bn London investment firm run by one of the UK’s richest hedge fund managers, soared by more than 100% last year following bumper profits.

According to accounts filed at Companies House, profits at Egerton increased by 105% to £217.8m in the year ending March 31 2018. That was on the back of a 98.4% rise in revenues to £229.4m.
