John McDonnell, the UK shadow chancellor, says there is still time to hold another referendum on the UK’s membership of the European Union ahead of the planned exit from the trading bloc in March.
Asked by Financial News if the UK was running out of time to again ask voters for their views on EU membership, McDonnell said: “No, not necessarily.” The shadow chancellor also said he would want “Remain on the ballot paper” and that he would vote to remain in the EU himself.
