David Jones, interim chief executive of Patsystems, the independent software vendor, will not put himself forward for election as permanent chief executive.

His decision comes just weeks after shareholders of the company voted against resolutions to remove him as chief executive, following calls by the company's previous management and its founder to oust Jones and another director, Stewart Douglas-Mann.
