JP Morgan and Canaccord Genuity have landed advisory roles on what could be the largest merger or acquisition in Europe’s investment management industry for almost a decade.

FTSE 250 member Alliance Trust announced on May 30 that it had received an "informal proposal" from RIT Capital Partners, a trust chaired by Lord Jacob Rothschild, to merge the companies.
