JP Morgan has appointed Michel Gibault from Lehman Brothers to work on its French and Benelux equity capital markets origination alongside Sylvie Sauton and Philippe Dischamps. Gibault is the second senior banker from Lehman to follow Carlos Conde, the former head of European equity capital markets at Lehman, to JP Morgan. Conde joined JP Morgan as co-head of European ECM with Michele Colocci in April. A few weeks ago Sauton, who has 15 years' experience in debt and equity capital markets, followed him. The appointments are part of a wider programme at JP Morgan to increase the scale of its ECM department in Europe, which the bank believed was falling out of line with the strength of its M&A business.
