JP Morgan has hired Shinji Sano and Christiane Bernartz, two Japanese equity sales specialists in Frankfurt, as part of an effort to build a global equity sales team in Germany.

The appointment of Sano and Bernartz, who worked in similar positions at Merrill Lynch, follow the retirement in June of senior salesman Gundula Richter who covered Japanese sales for German clients at JP Morgan.
