JP Morgan in negotiations to outsource IT to IBM

JP Morgan Chase, the investment bank, is in exclusive negotiations with IBM, the technology services company, about outsourcing its global computing operations.

The technology contract is believed to be worth about $5bn (€4.97bn) over seven years, and would involve IBM assuming responsibility for JP Morgan's technology divisions for retail banking, trading and securities processing.
