JP Morgan in talks with 'dozens' of potential targets

Jamie Dimon, president and chief operating officer of JP Morgan Chase, has reportedly held talks with "dozens" of US banks in the hunt for acquisitions. He said that a big deal could come early next year.

The discussions have been going on "for months" and Dimon has now ordered Harold Pote, vice-chairman of retail financial services, to meet the heads of the financial institutions, The Wall Street Journal reports, citing people familiar with the conversations.
