JP Morgan: ‘Investment banking has never been stronger’

Jes Staley and Jamie Dimon tell analysts that JP Morgan is committed to the universal banking model and that its investment bank is here to stay

Jes Staley, chairman of JP Morgan’s corporate and investment bank, has told analysts at Bernstein Research that the division has been gaining market share and that the firm remains committed to the universal banking model.

The analyst note from senior analyst John McDonald, published this morning, said: "Staley feels the IB has never been in a stronger position in terms of client breadth, technology, and coordination with other JP Morgan businesses."
