JP Morgan has promoted the co-head of its Asia equities division to be sole head less than a year after he joined from Merrill Lynch.

Kester Ng has been made sole head of equity capital markets in Asia outside Japan and Australia while Jonathan Back, previously co-head with Ng, is leaving the bank's equities division.
