JP Morgan saves face for Havas on Tempus offer

JP Morgan has advised Havas Advertising of France to let its recommended offer lapse for Tempus, the UK media buying agency, losing fees but saving Havas' reputation in a rapidly falling market.

The first closing date for acceptances of Havas' offer is September 24. Havas said on Friday that it would not extend the offer period beyond Monday and that &quotthe offer is therefore expected to lapse on that date&quot.
