JP Morgan says sorry for Enron 'mistakes'

Regulator criticises JP Morgan executives for dragging their feet in investigation

JP Morgan has admitted it made mistakes in its dealings with Enron - and has also come under fire for not co-operating with regulators early on in their investigation.

Marc Shapiro, vice-chairman of JP Morgan Chase, has expressed regret for the way the bank failed to monitor its deals with Enron, the energy company that collapsed under a mountain of hidden debts in 2001.
