JP Morgan standardises default swap dates

JP Morgan plans to introduce standard maturity dates for European credit default swaps in an effort to enhance liquidity in one of the world's fastest growing credit markets.

Credit default swaps, or derivatives that allow counterparties to buy and sell protection against companies defaulting on their debt, have become a popular liquid instrument underlying the cash markets.
