Mergers and acquisitions bankers at JP Morgan have taken the Wall Street bank to the top of the league tables for domestic UK deals so far in 2017.

This week the bank was named financial adviser to John Wood Group, an Aberdeen-based oil field services company to which it is also corporate broker, on a £2.2 billion agreed takeover of rival Amec Foster Wheeler.
