While the Covid-19 virus began its rampage of the world outside, JPMorgan chief executive Jamie Dimon endured two bouts of serious surgery needed after a dangerous rip to his aorta.

His personal crisis began within moments of telling his top people that the economy is in trouble in the early hours of 5 March.
