JPMorgan told incoming interns to prep for being online from home for the duration of the bank’s programme, a sign that executives are becoming increasingly sceptical that Covid-19 lockdowns will be lifted before the summer.

The US banking giant is the first major Wall Street firm to tell its summer interns that they will not be coming into the office at all this year, offering instead a “fully virtual internship”, according to a note sent on 16 April and seen by Financial News
