Turnover of junior dealmakers in the City swelled by nearly 70% last year as banks battled an exodus of analysts amid a burnout crisis.

Last year, 344 analysts at top investment banks in the UK departed for new roles — either leaving the industry or joining a rival — according to analysis from headhunters Melrose Partners, which specialises in placing juniors from banking into private equity.
