Jupiter Fund Management has appointed City veteran Roger Yates as a non-executive director, bringing one of the best-known names in the investment community on board as the sector battles a multitude of headwinds.

Yates will join the board at FTSE 250 firm Jupiter later this year, subject to regulatory approval, according to a statement, and will also sit on the £47bn fund manager's nomination and remuneration committees.
