Well-regarded fund managers at Jupiter Asset Management and BlackRock have emerged as two big backers of Better Capital, the startup private-equity firm founded by industry doyen Jon Moulton.

BlackRock's Mark Lyttleton, manager of the UK Absolute Alpha fund, took a 6.1% stake in Better Capital at the time of its listing on the Alternative Investment Market last week, according to a regulatory filing published this morning.
