Raphael Kanza, a senior fund manager at Schroders, has left to join Egerton Capital, the hedge fund group managed by John Armitage.

Kanza was co-founder of Beaumont, a hedge fund specialist, with Michael Dobson and Sally Tennant in November 2000. In order to persuade Dobson to join as chief executive, Schroders agreed to pay £33.5m (€49m) for Beaumont in 2001, equivalent to 18% of funds under management.
