Former Lazard banker Ken Costa looks to African adventure

The new venture is likely to have at least two offices, one in Johannesburg and one in London

Ken Costa, the former chairman of Lazard International who was previously one of the City of London’s best-known rainmakers, is in talks to launch a fund focused on deals in Africa.

South African-born Costa and Nana Sao, a former managing director at Goldman Sachs in Johannesburg, are in early talks to launch the permanent capital vehicle, according to two people familiar with the matter.
