Ken Wattret takes over as chief European economist as the data provider gets ready for an expected Brexit-driven increase in business

Former BNP Paribas chief economist re-emerges at IHS Markit

A former senior economist at BNP Paribas, who left the French bank to join a research startup seeking to gain from new European trading rules, has returned to big-name finance with a role at IHS Markit.

Ken Wattret worked as co-head of central and eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa economics at BNP Paribas. He left in 2016 and joined independent research house TS Lombard in early 2017. He departed that role in January, according to his LinkedIn profile, and has now re-emerged at data provider IHS Markit as its chief European economist, the firm confirmed.
